Alex
Ward has advised SMOKE SIGNALS that the
Central Class of ’65 has
scheduled their class reunion for the 4 th weekend in July, the 22
nd and 23 rd.

MEMPHIS NEWS
Former
Memphis mayor Wyeth Chandler died Nov. 11 in Bartlett after suffering
a massive heart attack. Chandler served as Councilman, then mayor from
1972-1982.
He retired during his third term, when he was appointed Circuit Court judge.
He retired from the court in 1996.
Former
sheriff A.C. Gilless, died Nov. 25, at his home, after a long battle with
lung cancer. Gilless, 70, had been Shelby County’s longest serving Sheriff. He
served 43 years in the department, 12 as sheriff.
